13 Reasons Why | O Livro

Carina Pereira

Aqui fica a primeira.

Thirteen Reasons WhyThirteen Reasons Why by Jay AsherMy rating: 5 of 5 starsI can't imagine someone picking this book up and then being able not to try and finish it in one sitting. I didn't finish in one sitting, but I went to bed with my head bobbing and I reached for it first thing the next morning, until I was done. It's compeling because you want to know. Your name is not on those tapes, but you want to know.In hindsight, I still found myself thinking, did she really decide to commit suicide because of just this? I'm not saying her reasons weren't valid, but you start rationalising; so many people go through so many difficult things. A lot more traumatic than what Hannah went through. Then you realise it is not about the burden, it's about whoever is carrying it. For Hannah, the burden was too heavy to handle. There are, around us, without us even thinking or realising, small burdens that weights on the carrier's shoulder like the weight of the world. Sometimes a single word, a gesture, can change a person's mind, can save a life. We're all too focused on our own lives to see it, because we're the main characters, right? Everyone else exists in relation to us.The story describes well the struggles of adolescent life, how parents and educaters disregard feelings because they believe young people to be dramatic, unknowing of what life truly is. How we can't predict the effect of our actions most of the time. Even small, apparently inocuous actions. It's a wild ride.I really enjoyed it, now I'm going to watch the series. For those who liked this as much as I have, I recommend watching the Australian move 2:37.View all my reviews*
